Lilydale is famous for its sporting determination!                            Pole No: 286 (near the swimming pool)

Sport is a very important part of Lilydale's life. The triumphant Lilydale Football Club is legendary in its energy and forcefulness. Their 2012 season was a triumph and their colours are celebrated below.

The Lilydale Bowls Club has gone from strength to strength with the new Bowling club premises.

Below:  Daniel Geale, the world-famous boxing champion is pictured with his trainer from his early years, local Lloyd Poke.

We celebrate world champions and we celebrate our own local champions. The Sue Arms Tai Chi group are focussed at their skill, there's badminton, the Keep Fit group at the Lilydale District School gym, swimming in the popular Lilydale swimming pool. As well, croquet thanks to local Ian Scott who has been a leader in developing croquet in Tasmania.

Hollybank's flying fox is not for the faint-hearted. It is a fabulous experience and the view of the Tasmanian bushland way below your feet is well worth it!
